what to know when coming to a boudoir session

Did you book your first Boudoir Session here in San Diego? Are you interested in a Boudoir Session? Here are some tips & tricks to get you prepped for your session!

First off, GET IT GIRL!!!!! Boudoir Sessions are ALL about empowering yourself and embracing everything about you and your body. I love doing Boudoir Sessions because it is so intimate. It is you, me and the camera. I ensure all of my clients that I do not require them to do anything they want to do. This session is all about you! That being said, you can get keep it all on or take it all off. I have done both for sessions! I have also seen it all and let me tell you….. it does not phase me!

When my clients book a session for me, I give them some tips for the session. A few of them are:

1. Cut the tags off of your lingerie.

   Trust me on this! Taking the time to cut off those white tags can save you an itch and it save us time in the editing process!

2. Choose music that unleashes your inner goddess

   Is it Beyonce? The Weeknd? Alina Baraz? I think this part is so important to a session. As a client, your willing to get vunerable infront of the camera. Play some music your familiar with and let’s have some fun!

3. Have a drink…..or two

   You are celebrating yourself. Your investing the time, money and energry to do the session. Why not have some fun and make yourself a cocktail before the session!

4. Trust your Photographer

   I cannot stress this enough. Trust your photographer! They know what they are doing and have done it a ton of times. Choose someone that you like as a person. This person is photographing you in such an intimate why, so choose someone that aligns with you!

5. If it’s not a comfortable pose, then move onto another!

   I always tell my clients…. “If the pose feels uncomfortable, let’s try something different!”. Our goal is to make your favorite parts of your gorgeous body POP! If you are feeling weird about a pose, move your body around to make it comfortable for you!

6. Choose a space you like

Do you like a Downtown San Diego loft vibe? Studio lighting with back drops? Outdoorsy wood or outdoor beachy vibe? Is it your own room? Choose a location that best fits your energy!

7. Create a pintrest board with your photographer

Send inspiration photos to your photographer! This can give us an idea of what YOU want to show off!

9. Plan your glam accordingly

Do you want to get your hair and makeup done by a professional? Contact your FAV HMUA as soon as possible! They are typically booked out fast, especially here in San Diego. Need help finding one? Just ask!

10. Let your photographer know what makes you feel comfortable!

Listen, this is about YOU. If you are uncomfortable with full nude, let us know!
